Everytime I think about playing the lottery, I realize I’ve already won.  Have you not met Becca?

Unfortunately, with ideas like “No Child Left Behind”, what we’re raising is worse than failure.

I don’t have a problem with people going to God only when they need help — as long as they know they ALWAYS need help.

Be careful when people rush to join a move of God.  “When people say, ‘He is here’ or ‘He is there’, don’t go.”  an omnipresent God is just as present in a strip club as a steeple house; that doesn’t mean I have to go there to experience Him.  Mostly these individuals are guilty of what I call “Chasing what you already have by promise.”

You have to stop being Martha to be Mary and choose the better thing.  Sometimes you can be a Martha trying to be Mary.

You have to be the New Song to truly sing the New Song.

Peace.

Many claim, “It’s all about unity,” or “It’s all about evangelism,” or “It’s all about community,” or “It’s all about free worship,” or “It’s all about sound doctrine and teaching,” or “It’s all about giving to the poor,” or whatever.  That’s like looking at a body and saying “It’s all about the hand!” or the arms or legs or torso or feet or whatever.  Of course the body wouldn’t be the body without the hand, but the hand is not the body, it is only a part of it.  To be so focused on one aspect of the Kingdom shows a narrow view but not the correct narrow view.  It’s really all about the Head.  Christ is the focus more than our individual calls and giftings.  The Head controls the whole Body, so our connection must be to Him and Him alone.  Much division is due to a lack of understanding of a diverse Body with diverse gifts and expression.

Every place is a door on the journey to another place.  But there is one final place, though.  That will be da bomb.

I would rather party with an honest sinner than worship with a half-ass saint.

What God will do next is always more amazing than what He did previously.  It is His nature.

A big part of discipleship is not putting things on people, but teaching them how free they really are.

If I hear from God, does another’s notion of humbleness bind me to say that I do not?  Is true humility acting in such a way as to appear humble or speaking the truth in obedience no matter how I may appear?  If I hear clearly from God, but say I do not, have I not become a liar for the sake of appearing humble?

There are some things you will not get from God in community.  There are some things you will not get from God alone.

It is hard to see the forest when you’re cutting down trees.

God wants more Peters and Pauls and Daniels and Ezekiels and Jeremiahs.  He has enough rats and mice in His Kingdom.  He wants Lions.

The use for all temporal things is simple: to lay hold of the eternal.

It is not a sin to be rich.  It is a sin to seek to be rich.

You cannot free someone from bondage by participating in it with them.  You only justify and embolden the bondage.

It is not my job to improve America.  My calling is to expose the true Kingdom of God.  The Church needs to realize the greater includes the lesser.

Whatever you serve as gods, the true God will make as crap.

We’re getting close to 4,500 American troops killed in the war in Iraq over the last few years.  That’s almost as many babies as we kill in this country, legally, EVERY DAY.

If every person who voted for Obama had personally given $100 (average) to someone in need on November 4, we wouldn’t need the government to do anything for the poor.  That’s 6 billion dollars to those in need without government bureacracy, waste, raising taxes or campaigning for “change” or “hope.”  That’s not counting the McCain voters as well.  Rounding up for fun, that would have been 12 billion dollars of immediate compassion in one day.  That’s the kind of change we need.

Peace.

Your gods, the work of your hands, will be the ruin of you.

Do we really believe that He who refused to rule an earthly kingdom while in the flesh, seeks to do so while in the Spirit?

Ritual and ceremony leads to idolatry.  Every time.

The modern culture would have come to Jesus in Gesthemane and tried to give Him a valium, saying, “Just settle down — this is unhealthy.”

God speaks from the midst of fire.

Moses had to destroy Midian before he died.
